DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONAL SERVICES
The Department of Correctional Services is contributing towards skills development by providing opportunities to unemployed graduates to gain work experience in various skills areas. It is therefore inviting applications for an Internship Programme that would run for a period of 12 months.
Interns will be placed at the Correctional Services Head Office in Pretoria, Regional Offices and Management Areas in various Provinces. It is required that candidates would have their own accommodation and transport, DCS will only pay a monthly allowance.
DCS is an equal opportunities employer and would therefore be guided by the principles of Employment Equity in the consideration of applications. It upholds the right to place or not place applicants based on its needs and requirements.
Applicants must be graduates/ diplomates in any one of the fields specified below and must be at least 18 to 35 years old. Successful interns will be expected to sign an Internship Agreement.
Information and Communications Technology
Graphic Design (fine arts)
Arts (music & drama)
Agriculture – (Animal Husbandry or Plant Production)
Finance and Commerce
Logistics and Fleet Management
Correctional Services Management
Psychology (3rd year level or Honours)
Human Movement Studies and Sports Management
Hospitality-Food and Beverages
Education (Vocational and Technical)
Human Resource Development or ETDP
Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Architecture, Civil and Industrial)
Public Administration and Management
